Dr. Amanda Newman, D.V.M.
Dr. Amanda Newman graduated with honors from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She worked at Acadiana West Animal Clinic for 5 years, then at Abadie Veterinary Hospital for 10 years before joining Benbow Veterinary Services.
One of Dr. Newman's passions is educating youth about being responsible for their pets, and inspiring them to be future veterinarians. She speaks with children about the value and great reward of having a pet in the family, but that it is a member of the family and needs as much love, care and attention as they do.
Dr. Newman lives with her loving and supportive family, which includes her incredible husband, Sam, and her two amazing daughters, Jasmine and Jaden. Her furry family of half a dozen members is comprised of all rescue animals and includes Wolfgang, the 100-pound gentle giant German Shepard; Penito, the animated Maltese; three female cats (with very different personalities), Purrsephone Gray, Lulu, and Cleo; and last but not least, Olaf, the fun loving mischievous ferret. Along with spending time with her family, Dr. Newman enjoys reading, drawing, and taking to the volleyball courts at Coconut Beach.
